HERE'S THE FINISHED VERSION: [link]
In case anyone's interested. This is a wip of the Himalayan Red Panda picture I'm working on. It kind of shows the way I paint. I first chose a reference picture, did a pencil sketch and started doing the eyes. I always start painting and drawing with the eyes, because that's what make things alive /at least according to me  / Once the eyes are done I start doing a base paint for the fur, it's lightter than the actual fur /you can see ir on the back, or under the head.. and then I start adding the details, hair by hair.. I always tend to follow the way the hairs go to make it look more realistic This time I started doing a background too.. when I get bored with the fur I start doing leaves.. The colors are slightly distorted. I don't mind about the panda, because it just got a little rusty colored.. the distortion of the colors of the leaves in the background is mor irritating... I decided to upload this stage of the red panda, based on the feedback on the poll about wips Comments and criticism are welcome as ususal! Feel free to check out my other works |
